Course Description: This course will provide an introduction to financial management and will ensure that you are confident in your handling of financial information. Topics will include the funding of health care, costing and pricing of health services including market analysis, budgeting and budgetary control, contracting processes, financial accounting, working capital management and financial analysis, financial systems and controls, management information systems, performance management, capital investment appraisal and project management. The emphasis will be on the practical needs of the manager.

Assessment: Exam 70% - Written Assignment(s) 30%

Course Credit: All LSHTM Short Courses offer transfer of credit to LSTHM Certificate, Diploma or Masters-level programmes within 4 years of completion

Course Study Hours/Duration: 100 hrs over 35 weeks
