Course Description: By the end of this course you should be able to:
- define a research problem and formulate a study hypothesis and objectives
- choose an appropriate and ethical study design
- plan field procedures, including sample selection, and the design of questionnaires and record forms
- plan a time schedule for the conduct of the study, assess the logistical requirements and prepare a budget
- prepare a detailed protocol that is of sufficient standard to be developed into a submission to a funding agency
- be aware of appropriate funding bodies and procedures for grant applications and their assessment.
Assessment: Written Assignment(s) 100%
Course Credit: All LSHTM Short Courses offer transfer of credit to LSTHM Certificate, Diploma or Masters-level programmes within 4 years of completion
