Course Description: This course will provide in-depth knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, animal health surveillance programmes and introduce you to disease modelling. Subject areas covered include: qualitative and quantitative risk analysis; design and evaluation of animal health surveillance and control programmes involving multiple herds; farm-level animal disease and production surveillance; introduction to database management; deterministic and stochastic modelling of animal diseases.
Assessment: Exam 80% - 1 Written Assignment 20%
Course Credit: All RVC 240-hr Short Courses offer transfer of credit to RVC Certificate, Diploma or Masters-level programmes within 4 years of completion
Course Study Hours/Duration: 240 hrs over 35 weeks
Schedule of Availability: The study period is between Feb - Oct. For enrolment, all RVC short courses are available throughout the year on a rolling enrolment basis. However, 240-hr courses (taken from the Masters programmes) have exams to be taken in Oct each year
