Course Description: By the end of this course you should be able to appreciate the use of different trial designs such as non-inferiority and equivalence, cross-over, factorial, multi-armed and cluster randomised trials in assessing interventions and therapies, including complex interventions. The strengths and weaknesses of each design will be discussed, together with their implications for sample size requirements, analytic methods, interpretation and reporting.
Assessment: Exam 80% - Written Assignment(s) 20%
Course Credit: All LSHTM Short Courses offer transfer of credit to LSTHM Certificate, Diploma or Masters-level programmes within 4 years of completion
Course Study Hours/Duration: 100 hrs over 35 weeks
