Water & Sanitation
The importance of water is taking an increasingly significant role within the context of international development. Events over the last few years have indicated the impact that access to water can have on regional and national security, as well as the livelihoods of both rural and urban communities.
We have recognised the need for dedicated programmes of study associated with this emerging discipline. We have selected postgraduate courses from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and the Centre for Development, Environment and Policy at SOAS to form the basis of this new area of study.
These courses look at the management of water as a natural resource, as a factor in environmental health and health promotion, and as a crucial element in rural development and agriculture.
Each of the courses can be taken individually, although in the case of the advanced courses some prior knowledge may be required. Subject to certain requirements, each of these courses may also contribute towards the completion of a post-graduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters’-level qualification from the relevant institution. Contact the Course Director of the courses you are interested in for further information.
